Even the best systems run into hiccups. Here are the most common errors in Drip CRM, why they occur, and how to fix them.

1. Emails Not Sending
Why it happens:
Your email service (Gmail, Outlook, SMTP) isn’t connected properly.
Your domain isn’t verified for sending.
Daily sending limits have been reached.
Fix:
Go to Settings → Email Services.
Check if Gmail/Outlook/SMTP is connected. Reconnect if needed.
Verify your domain with SPF and DKIM records (found under Domain Settings).
If using Gmail, check you haven’t hit Google’s sending quota.
2. Emails Going to Spam
Why it happens:
Messages contain “spam trigger words.”
You’re sending bulk emails to unengaged contacts.
Domain reputation is low.
Fix:
Avoid words like “FREE!!!” or excessive exclamation marks.
Warm up your domain: start with small sends, then scale.
Regularly clean your lists with Smart Lists (remove inactive contacts).

3. SMS/WhatsApp Not Delivering
Why it happens:
Phone number not connected.
Contact’s number is invalid or not in international format.
Carrier restrictions in certain countries.
Fix:
Check Phone Settings to confirm your number is active.
Format numbers with +country code (e.g.
+27for South Africa).Test with a known valid number.
4. Duplicate Messages Sent
Why it happens:
Contact is in multiple Smart Lists targeted by the same campaign.
Workflow is looping because of missing exit conditions.
Fix:
Before launching, preview campaign recipients.
Add “remove from workflow” steps to prevent looping.

5. Double-Booking Appointments
Why it happens:
Calendar not synced with Google/Outlook.
No buffer time between slots.
Fix:
Sync your external calendar under Calendar Settings.
Add buffer periods (e.g. 15 minutes) to avoid overlap.
For team calendars, use round-robin setup instead of shared slots.
6. Appointment Reminders Not Sending
Why it happens:
Reminder notifications not configured.
Workflow is inactive.
Fix:
Go to Calendar → Notifications and set reminder timings.
Check related workflows are published.

Invalid or expired API key.

Integration not authenticated.

Double-check you’ve selected the correct lead form or ad account.
Test by submitting a lead form manually.

9. Duplicate Contacts
Why it happens:
Multiple imports without deduplication.
Same contact submitted through different funnels.
Fix:
Use the Merge Duplicates tool under Contacts.
Standardize import files before uploading.
Add validation rules to forms (e.g. require email/phone).
10. Workflow Not Triggering
Why it happens:
Trigger conditions not met.
Workflow is inactive.
Fix:
Double-check the trigger type (form submission, tag applied, etc.).
Test the trigger with a sample contact.
Ensure the workflow is toggled Active.
